Troubleshooting
When something sounds wrong
The page reloaded itself once
That is the fallback. Some players block direct access to their audio; when Front Row hears silence where sound should be, it captures the tab’s sound instead, which needs one reload. The switch applies to that tab only and ends when you close it.
Learn says it could not hear enough
Learn needs five uninterrupted seconds of playback. Press play, then press Learn, and let the countdown finish. If the video pauses midway, Learn stops and says so; press it again while the video plays.
The noise reduction slider is greyed out
Some sites’ security policies stop noise reduction from starting. A backup engine takes over automatically, but on some pages neither can run, so the slider is disabled. Clarity, the leveler, volume boost and the rumble filter still work.
The popup says there is no video or audio
Front Row works on ordinary pages with a player — not browser settings, the new tab page or other extensions’ pages. If the page has a player, reload it and open the popup again: a tab already open before you installed Front Row needs one reload.
Something else, and how to report it
Open the popup, click About, then Copy debug report. It copies this page’s details to your clipboard, including the audio route, measurements and last twenty Learn runs. Send it to support@codonic.dev with what you watched and heard; nothing is sent until you do.

Is Front Row free?
Yes. Free to install and use — no account, no subscription.
Does my audio go anywhere?
No. Everything runs live inside your browser. There is no server, and the neural network ships inside the extension.
Which sites does it work on?
Any ordinary web page with video or audio. It has no site-specific logic, so university lecture platforms, YouTube and any other player are the same to it.
Does it work in Edge, Brave or other Chromium browsers?
We have not tested them, so we do not claim them. Front Row is built and tested for Chrome, version 116 or later.
What does Learn this recording actually do?
It listens to five seconds of playback, measures how much noise there is and what kind, how far the level moves and how the tone is tilted, then sets all five controls. The sliders move so you see the decision; Undo puts them back.
Does it help when I watch at 2x?
Yes, it was built for that. It retunes its timing to your playback speed, so the leveler covers the same number of syllables at 2x as at 1x.

- Front Row collects nothing about you. No accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no crash reporting.
