LD Manager

For macOS

Last updated 23 October 2026

In short

  • LD Manager collects nothing about you. No account, no analytics, no telemetry.
  • It makes no network connections. Everything it does happens on your Mac.
  • It reads launchd’s state through launchctl and the plist files on your disk, and writes only the plists you edit, their backups, a cache and its own settings.

What LD Manager reads

To show your jobs, LD Manager and the ldm command ask launchd for its state with launchctl, and read the launchd plist files on your disk: your own LaunchAgents, agents for all users, system LaunchDaemons and Apple’s own.

What they read stays on your Mac. Nothing is sent to us or anyone else.

What LD Manager writes

Only the plist files you edit, and only when you save. Before each save it keeps a backup of the file in ~/Library/Application Support/LDManager/Backups, which Recent Changes lists and can restore.

It also keeps a cache in ~/Library/Caches/LDManager, and its own settings (pinned jobs, the refresh interval, whether you chose passwords over the helper) in its preferences file, io.github.roeehrl.ldmanager. Removing those folders and that file removes everything LD Manager stores.

The optional helper

If you approve LD Manager’s privileged helper in System Settings › Login Items, it carries out the changes to system jobs that you ask for, so macOS doesn’t ask for your password each time. It runs on your Mac and makes no network connections either. You can remove it any time in LD Manager’s Settings › Privileged helper, or turn it off in Login Items.

The internet

LD Manager makes no network connections: no analytics, no crash reporting, no update checks and no account.

Your rights

Privacy law in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California and elsewhere gives you rights over personal data a company holds about you: to see it, correct it, delete it, take it elsewhere, and object to its use. It also gives you the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

We hold no personal data about you through LD Manager, so there is nothing for us to hand over, correct or erase. What you create in the app stays under your control. We do not sell personal information.

If you have written to us by email, that correspondence is the one thing we do hold. Ask at dev@codonic.dev and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this same address with a new “last updated” date above. The address does not change.
