Everyone can work from the same trip ledger on supported devices. Record who paid, divide an expense equally, by percentage or with custom shares, see who owes whom, and let Souvenir calculate a simpler settle-up plan with fewer payments. You can also add companions by name when they do not use the app.
Souvenir makes that shared ledger worth revisiting. Each day becomes a chapter on a dotted route: what the group spent, the photos you attached, where you were, what the day cost against the budget, and an automatic marker the first time you cross a border.
Underneath it is a serious money tool. Every expense stores the amount in the currency you actually paid, converted using the mid-market rate of the day you spent it — not today’s rate. Entries made offline convert themselves later.
And it solves the thing travel apps normally get wrong: cash. An ATM withdrawal is a transfer into a per-currency cash pocket, not spending. Cash purchases drain that pocket. Fees are tracked separately. Nothing is ever counted twice, and you always know what is really in your money belt.

Is Souvenir free?
Yes. Souvenir is free and available now on the App Store for iPhone and Google Play for Android.
Can I log travel expenses offline?
Yes. You can log and browse expenses without a connection. Missing exchange rates and shared-trip changes catch up when the device is online again.
How does Souvenir handle cash and ATM withdrawals?
An ATM withdrawal moves money into a per-currency cash pocket instead of counting as spending. Cash purchases reduce that pocket, while ATM and card fees remain separate.
Can Souvenir split group travel expenses?
Yes. Add companions by name, split expenses equally or with custom shares, and calculate a settle-up plan with fewer payments. Companions do not all need the app for manual splitting.
How can I add travel expenses?
Enter an amount manually in seconds, scan a receipt where supported, or enable optional on-device capture tools. You stay in control of which entries are saved to the trip.
Privacy by design
What Souvenir knows about you
- Without an optional Souvenir Account or AI connector, your journal is not readable by Codonic: it stays on your device, in your private iCloud, or inside an end-to-end-encrypted shared trip.
- A Souvenir Account is optional. It stores identity and recovery metadata so the same trip member can move between devices; the recovery code itself never reaches us.
- Claude and ChatGPT access is a second, separate opt-in. It gives our integration service and the provider a limited, server-readable trip projection, never notes, precise GPS, card identifiers, photos, receipts or other media.
- Deleting a trip, deleting the app and deleting a Souvenir Account are different actions. The sections below explain exactly what each removes.
